i’ve been really behind on my posts lately and it’s because april is always a busy month for us. with spring break, wedding anniversaries and 3 kid’s birthdays, bestie’s birthday, and grandma’s birthday – i am completely pooped!

i have one last soiree this saturday where i’m helping with some decorations for a friend’s baby shower. and it’s off i go on my first girl’s vacation to miami since the birth of the twins.

i did leave the twins at 4 months old to go to singapore and malaysia, but that didn’t count because ryely came along on that trip. i am beyond excited and really looking forward to leaving these kids and hubs at home. i remember the first time i had to leave ryely to go on a girl’s trip to miami, i cried and cried. i experienced major separation anxiety and couldn’t completely relax on my vacation. i’m hoping that won’t be the case this time. i want to run away from this family all the time so if i shed some tears it will be from joy – from having just a few days to myself! i’ll be sitting on the beach with sand between my toes and sipping on a mojito with no kids to bug me.

i’m counting down the days kids! then this momma is out.

here are pics from party #1 at the house. our annual house party/ friends and family reunion of sorts. we pack our house in with lots of out-of-towners and we partied all weekend long. this year was tamer then most, i think that’s a sign that we’re getting older considering my oldest daughter just turned 8!

happy birthday to all my babies.

ABOUT THE PARTY: pink and orange theme. i made the poms myself. we also made 3 giant cupcake cakes – coconut, carrot and red velvet. all three cakes were yummy, we barely had any left the next day. the kids had an awesome time as usual. all they need is a moon bounce, trampoline and slides. i also got them a cupcake and basketball pinata and they all squealed with excitement when candy came out. that was all they needed, candy!

mini style: new york street style

a mini style from our new york trip. we went to go visit addison for spring break. it was a long overdue visit considering the last time we were in new york was for her birthday. we had an awesome time hanging out. we tried to go to the empire state building but it was not happening. so we took the kids to FAO Schwarz and they were all in heaven. we had so much fun, i don’t know if the kids enjoyed themselves more or the mommies.

then we did our anthony bourdain food tour and went to Baohaus for some good eats. drove the kids to times square to see the lights and got ice cream at van leeuwen and called it night in bushwick. the next day we went to visit a friend in park slope and got dinner at the meat ball shop and drove home. all the kids were knocked out and it was a quiet ride straight home where they continued to sleep all night long. i guess all of our activites wore them out. this recap alone is wearing me out and that was only half of what we did! lol

there will be more road trips to new york this summer now that the kids are older and the car ride seems less daunting and more do-able.

here are a few pics of the kids before brunch at pies n’ thighs and after brunch at blue bottle coffee.
